Management and Physical Interception
Approved for 6 C.P.E. (Through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board This program is designed to teach the participants, normally in the field of social services, mental health, correction facilities, and law enforcement, proactive ways to deal with individuals in a crisis so they can be de-escalated and into a more manageable condition where communication can now take place. Also covered are physical Interception techniques for individuals who have completely lost control “physically” to lower the risk of injury for both parties. 1.) Intro of presenter and participants: 10 min. 2.) Living in the now {lecture} 10 min. 3.) Ice Breaker {Brainstorm puzzle} 10 min. 4.) Proactive *Vs- Reactive {lecture} 15 min. 10-15 min break 5.) Interactive Stress Reflex 10 min. 6.) Proactive Crisis Management 30 min. 7.) Question answer period 10 min. 10-15 min break 8.) How we can be influenced by others / Who is influencing who? {group exercise} 9.) Psycho-dynamic Role Play: Group exercise { Role play involves verbal aggressive situations} *Contributing factors that lead up to aggression *How to defuse and and redirect hostile situations *Reading kinetic body language *Having the right mind set. 45 min. 10-15 min. break 10.)
